LANDSCAPE BOOK GROUP All Ages


The Arboretum Library’s book group explores the portrayal of western North American landscape in fiction, non-fiction, drama, and poetry. The group generally meets the last Wednesday of the month in the Arboretum Library or out on the Arboretum grounds, weather and sunlight per- mitting. Some dates are not the last Wednesday. Check the dates below.


The group uses the Shared Inquiry™ method developed by the Great Books Foundation. The chosen book of the month must be read in order to participate.

Pete Carta, from Rockler’s Pasadena store, will be demonstrating how to turn a piece of wood into a beautiful Christmas ornament that dou- bles as a small gift box. Pete is a natural wood- turning guru; he enjoys teaching turning classes and happily guiding students through the highly addictive process of turning chunks of trees into skillfully turned works of art.

Lou is the manager of the Torrance California Rockler store and an avid woodworker with more than 25 years of experience. Lou also teaches woodworking and fine finishing at the Torrance Rockler store.
