2015 Emily Drake Baragar is an elementary connection coordinator at Brookwood Church in Simpsonville, SC. She oversees the elementary children’s ministry by being involved in the small groups for 300 chil- dren in first through fourth grade.


Tayler Brookshire has been promoted to senior site operations engineer for Immedion, a premier provider of Cloud, data center, and managed information technology (IT) services. Brookshire will provide and man- age the technical delivery of Immedion’s colocation and managed service offerings to customers in both the pre-sales and post-sales process. He is based in Immedion’s Columbia, SC, location.


Chandler Moats is the student pastor at Secona Baptist Church in Pickens, SC.


Bridgette White has joined the Marchant Company in Greenville, SC, as the marketing director.


2016 Josh Shaffer has been named the director of member- ship development for the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce. Shaffer currently serves as a credit analyst for the credit administration department at Crescom Bank in Greer, SC.


Kelsey Nicole Wilson has graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University with a Master of Public Policy. She is now work- ing in Washington, DC, as an analyst with the Government Account- ability Office (GAO). GAO investigates how the federal government spends taxpayer dollars. Its mission is to improve the performance and ensure the accountability of the federal government.


2017 Rachel Abercrombie was named Crystal Apple winner for teaching excellence for induction teachers at her school and also for Spartanburg School District 7.


Dr. Terry Lanford (DMin) — former executive pastor of First Baptist North Spartanburg and current senior pastor at Grassy Pond Baptist in Gaffney, SC — was NGU’s first Doctor of Ministry graduate to teach a two-week course on the major prophets at Uganda Baptist Seminary in March 2018. Te course helped Sunday school teachers learn how to study and teach the Bible. Lanford has also started Entrusted to Teach Ministries, a nonprofit he leads full-time. It provides much-needed training and resources to local churches in an effort to strengthen small group Bible teaching.


Kerilyn McQuate has joined the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner, REALTORS’ Augusta Road office in Greenville, SC, as a sales associate.


2018


Connor Grant was drafted by the Miami Marlins in 2018. Before his selection, Grant played two seasons of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II baseball with NGU. During 125 games total, he slashed .343/.402/.563, with 17 home runs, 97 runs batted in (RBI), and 35 stolen bases. Grant has appeared in 23 games with the Gulf Coast League Marlins this year and gone 17-for-76 from the plate. Grant is expected to get a spring training invitation in 2022.


Austin Marshbanks is a risk and advisory consultant within the federal practice at Deloitte LLP. He works on the Accounting and Reporting Transformation team to consult with various government agencies on risks that may arise or have developed within their organizations and pertain to financial reporting, complex accounting transactions, and implementing accounting standards and regulations.
