Courtney Mayes traveled to Ethiopia in July 2017 with Sports Friends International, a nonprofit that uses sports as a way to spread the gospel in Africa and beyond. During their trip, Mayes and her team worked at Camp Langano, where they hosted soccer camp for 80 boys. Upon returning to the U.S., Mayes applied and was accepted for the position of finance


manager with Sports Friends. As she raises 100 percent support for this position, she continues working with her current company, CliftonLar- sonAllen, where she has been on the assurance team for the past three years.


Amanda Styles McKinney was named Teacher of the Year at Duncan Elementary School in Duncan, SC, for the 2017-18 school year.


Jennifer Murray Williams was named Teacher of the Year at Cotton Indian Elementary School in Stockbridge, GA, for the 2017-18 school year.


2014 Emily Brannon Deen was named Teacher of the Year at Chandler Creek Elementary School in Greenville, SC, for the 2017-18 school year.


Bekah Nienke Quirin and Derrick Quirin, both outdoor leadership alumni, recently hiked the 2,200- mile Appalachian Trail – with their baby on board! Ellie and her parents completed the trek in only six months’ time and documented their adventure on Instagram at @thedirtbagbaby.


Stephanie White was named Emerging Teacher of the Year at Cherry- dale Elementary School in Greenville, SC, for the 2017-18 school year.

Austin Hester has volunteered with adults with special needs for several years as a football and basketball coach. Tis year, Austin and his brother Adam, who hopes to transfer to NGU in the fall, are coaching the basketball team that has been chosen to participate in the Special Olympics USA Games. Te games are scheduled for the week of July 4 in Seattle,

Gabrielle McDaniel is a dual-language first grade teacher at Bruce Drysdale Elementary School in Hendersonville, NC. In this role, she teaches her students in both English and Spanish languages.


Chad Ploof has joined the office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner, Realtors as a sales associate.


2016 Lacy Galloway Hester is a horseback riding instructor at Bramblewood Stables in Taylors, SC. She also owns her own business, Lacy Hester Equine Services LLC, offering lessons as well as equine therapy. She is a certified Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) equine specialist.


Matthew David McMinn is currently pursuing his master’s degree at Southeastern Baptist Teological Seminary. He is also employed as a pastor at 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville, GA.


2017 Zachary Ellis was hired on as a network analyst at Unified Network Group prior to graduating in Fall 2017.


Madison Gregory is the child care director at the Cherokee County Family YMCA in Gaffney, SC.


Luke Jones participated in the Presbyterian College (PC) School of Pharmacy’s White Coat Ceremony held in September 2017. He is currently enrolled at PC and working toward his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.


Caroline Newkirk McMinn is a medical assistant with Bon Secours St. Francis Health System in Greenville, SC. She plans to begin physician assistant school in 2019.
