1998 Randall Popham has published his latest book, “Unfinished.” In the book, he shares hope-filled insights from the lives of Peter and Judas, whose famous failures took them down two drastically different paths. Popham is the lead pastor of Lanier Hills Church in Gainesville, GA. He has served in church ministry since 1995.


1999 Bill Robinson is the assistant principal at Dutch Fork Middle School in Irmo, SC.

Brandy Hart Amidon was elected the mayor of Travelers Rest, SC, becoming the city’s first female mayor. She previously served on city council for nine years.


Dr. Aaron Dougherty graduated from Southeastern Baptist Teological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, with a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) in Next Generation Ministry on Dec. 8, 2017.


2003 Dr. Josh Epton (MCM ’14, DMin ’18) successfully defended his pro- fessional DMin dissertation at North Greenville University’s Graduate School of Christian Ministry.

Erynn Reconnu Newman is the author of two award-winning books: “First Light” and “Out of Dark- ness.” “Out of Darkness,” an inspirational romantic sus- pense novel, is the story of Elisabeth Marek, a bride and a widow on the same day. All of her prayers are about to be answered if the CIA, international arms dealers, and


her best friend don’t stand in the way. “First Light” is a prequel novelette that tells the story of how Elisabeth and Drew met and fell in love.


2006 Dr. Ashley Bowers graduated from the University of South Carolina on Dec. 18, 2017, with her Doctor of Edu- cation in Curriculum and Instruction. On the day of graduation, she was reunited with her NGU friend and former colleague Dr. Cassondra Collins Leo (’08), who graduated with the same degree. Ashley cur- rently teaches English III and Advanced Placement (AP) Literature and Composition in the Charleston area, where she lives with her husband, Shane Bowers (’07).


Nate Bramsen has published a book titled “What if Jesus Meant What He Said?” Instead of offering easy answers, these pages ask difficult questions — like “What if Jesus’ words were never intended to fit into


your existing lifestyle?” and “What if they were meant to change everything?” — leading the reader on a journey


with life-altering implications.


2007 Katy Hesler Duncan is the volleyball coach at Black Hawk College in Moline, IL.


2008 Sarah Alexander Camp was named Teacher of the Year at Dacusville Elementary School in Dacusville, SC, for the 2017-18 school year.


Kevin Nunnery joined the staff of Brookwood Church in Simpson- ville, SC, in 2017 as high school pastor. At Brookwood, Nunnery works alongside fellow NGU alumni Ryan Hendrick (’10) and Corine Bratcher Brank (’14) — grades 5-6 pastor and children’s production coordinator, respectively.


Callie Finley Wentzky (EdD expected ’19) was named Teacher of the Year at Paris Elementary School in Taylors, SC, for the 2017-18 school year.


2009 Brandon Graves presented at the South Carolina Music Educators As- sociation’s Professional Development Conference in February 2018. His session was aimed at empowering and giving advice to college students as they embark on their careers as new music educators. Graves also performed the leading role in Sumter Little Teatre’s production of “Five Guys Named Moe” in February.


2010 Andre Bernardi has been named assistant athletic director of strength and conditioning at Furman University.


Chastity Adams Black was named Distinguished Literacy Teacher at Westcliffe Elementary School in Greenville, SC, for the 2017-18 school year.


Rebecca Holder Gray and her new husband, Todd Gray, are enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at Te University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg. Tey plan to complete their degrees in 2018.


2011 James Turn was recently named head football coach at Blue Ridge High School in Greer, SC. He served as the offensive coordinator at Westside High School in Anderson, SC, for the past two years.


2012 Kaitlyn Pierce Bernardi has been named the new NGU director of strength and conditioning. Kaitlyn takes over for former director Andre Bernardi (’10), her husband.


Jonathan Scott is the founder and CEO of ScopeStack, a Green- ville-based company that uses automation to scope information technol- ogy services quickly and accurately.


2013 Kali Smith Bailey has become a science teacher at Lancaster Christian Academy in Smyrna, TN.
