> MTC hosted its first IT Summit during which United States Army Chief Information Officer Lieutenant General Bruce Crawford met with Midlands-area employers to discuss their common needs to hire and develop IT talent. The summit discussed how organizations and MTC could work together to advance the IT field, recruit more individuals with the right skills and knowledge to fill current positions, and help build a pipeline for the future. He also led a session on leadership for MTC students.

> MTC worked with corporate customers to train more than 19,000 employees at 124 companies. The various corporate training initiatives improved companies’ recruiting and retention efforts and ultimately added to their long-term success and viability.
> MTC secured $430,691 in funding for apprentices through the South Carolina Apprenticeship Initiative (SCAI) grant. Through this grant, MTC helped 19 companies create more than 173 new apprenticeships in a variety of different industries including healthcare, manufacturing, and information technology. Apprenticeships are a fast-growing workforce development strategy that help employers provide a talent pipeline for difficult-to-fill positions.
