> Businesses looking to expand their training capacity and their revenue discovered MTC’s flexible online training capabilities. Lexington-based Avtec worked side-by-side with MTC to develop an innovative online training program that eliminates the company’s training backlog without losing the personal touch of a traditional classroom.
> MTC delivered customer service training to 1,178 employees of the Department of Transportation. The personalized DOT training is one of many partnerships with government agencies that MTC is able to provide statewide at sister colleges using the strengths of the S.C. Technical College System. MTC also provides customized, statewide training for the Department of Health and Human Services and the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce.
> Midlands TechHire has served 198 students, helping youth and young adults between the ages of 17-29 start new careers in the Information Technology field. Thirty students received internships related to their fields of study, 47 students obtained employment after completing training, and the remainder are finishing their training. The average wage earnings are more than $33,000 per year for entry- to mid-level positions.

> MTC partnered with three school districts –Richland One, Richland Two, and Lexington- Richland Five–in Project BOOM. BOOM, which stands for Building Occupational Opportunities in the Midlands, enables students with disabilities to receive hands on, real-world experience in the construction field, including a 10-hour OSHA credential in MTC’s state-of-the-art manufacturing and skilled trades facility. BOOM helped fill jobs in the high-demand area of construction, with 85% of the students receiving job offers.
> MTC hosted the annual Administrative Professionals Conference where more than 400 administrative professionals were inspired. The event, held annually for 30 years, enhances professional and personal development in an innovative and motivational environment.
> Two hundred and nine students received QuickJobs workforce development scholarships. QuickJobs are career training programs developed for fields where job growth is expected over the next five years. Many QuickJobs programs can be completed in less than three months, and some QuickJobs careers have annual earning potentials over $60,000.
