Providers reveal the benefits of corporate partnership

Being a SET Corporate Partner unlocks the career potential of staff by supporting their professional development. Here, providers discuss its value.

A corporate partnership with the Society for Education and Training (SET) offers employers the chance to buy into the support and benefits available through SET and the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) to support their staff and improve learner outcomes. SET Corporate Partner status serves as a badge of

recognition for providers who are committed to staff development and high-quality recruitment. It offers professional recognition for training organisations, and unlocks the career potential of staff by supporting their professional development. Benefits include helping providers to professionalise their teaching workforce by ensuring that each member of staff is following the SET Code of Practice, which sets out the professional behaviour and conduct expected of members. Partners are also supported in embedding the ETF

Professional Standards. And there is help in upskilling staff through Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) and Advanced Teacher Status (ATS). Other benefits include: • The SET partner logo for use on website and marketing materials

• Discounted SET membership for your staff • Use of SET CPD tools and support on how to integrate it into your performance development review (PDR) processes

• Access to the ETF training courses at discounted rates

• Complimentary SET membership for one member of your management team, and copies of each issue of SET’s journal, inTuition

• Staff workshops to get maximum value from SET. WHAT CORPORATE PARTNERS SAY

REDBRIDGE INSTITUTE SET Corporate Partner since May 2017. The SET partnership is part of the commitment we make to our staff to support them in achieving and consistently maintaining a set of high-quality skills and knowledge throughout their professional lives. We have sponsored 15 staff as part of their professional development plans, meeting the cost of their membership fees.

In self-assessments of their

professional practice using the ETF Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers, staff have consistently identified Professional Knowledge and Understanding as one area they most need to develop. Resources available through SET and the ETF are helping us to address this across the organisation. The Professional Standards and associated self-assessment tool have been successfully used to provide a measure of tutor development which we have used as a benchmark for planning development and measuring progress and impact. Tutors now have individual action plans
