Musselman Excavating regraded our on-campus riding arena. They took it down to the sub-base, re-graded, added a 8’ sub-base of stone, and then added 2-3 inches of washed concrete sand on the top. They were very professional, brought in laser guided equipment, made sure all of our needs were met, and even gave us some advice on how to maintain our new ring to make the new surface last longer. I thought they did a fantastic job. I would use them again in a second!.

Amy O. Burk, PhD • Associate Professor & Extension Horse Specialist University of Maryland

Musselman’s estimates are often higher than those of other excavators; however, the estimates are so detailed and precise that, when compared to other quotes, made me wonder what was missing from the others. Turns out, there was a lot missing from their quotes! For one estimate, Musselman contacted my landscaper to review topsoil before fi nalizing the estimate. My landscaper said that was the fi rst time an excavator had ever contacted him, and he really appreciated it. Since then, they have done several jobs together. For months after the job is complete, Jeff or Duane will continue to check on it and touch it up if need be. They maintain a good working relationship with the local Soil Conservation District, are able to inform clients of potential cost-share opportunities, and then help walk the application through the process...

Our relationship with Mussleman Excavating company began in 2008, when we bought a farm in Frederick MD and decided to develop it into an equestrian training and boarding facility. Jeff and his team were instrumental in developing the farm for placement of our barns and connected indoor arena. Their advice, involving water drainage, with appropriate placement of our roads and drainage pipes and septic tanks were invaluable. They also helped to develop our indoor and outdoor riding arenas with invaluable advise on the footing. Jeff can just look at piece of land and know what needs to be done.
