Maryland Will Miss... Cecilia Ciana Maddlone of Westminster
died on September 5 at the age of 65 as a re- sult of breast cancer. Known to her family and friends at CeCe, Maddlone was born in Phila- delphia, PA, and was married to Frank Mad- dlone for 22 years. Maddlone combined her love of music and
dance by studying ballet professionally in New York and Minneapolis. She was also a talented stage actress and model. Her modeling career led to her interest in photography and she quickly stepped behind the lens to creating im- ages for advertising campaigns. Maddlone headed a Strategic Communica-
tions team that supported the Veterans Ad- ministration (VA). As a fi lmmaker, Maddlone also produced, directed and edited a variety of short fi lms for the VA that were posted on its website as well as used for congressional meet- ings on Capitol Hill. She also worked as a re- altor in Arizona and was a marketing director for a Washington, D.C., fi rm with government
contracts. Maddlone also ran a successful cater- ing company in the mid-Atlantic region. Horses played an important role in Mad-
dlone’s life. She raised and trained horses at her ranches in Maryland, Arizona and Virginia. She used her musical background to create several musical freestyles for various dressage riders around the country. She co-wrote with her husband Rhythm Riding: A Guide to Riding With Music.
Talbot Taylor Jackson of Elkton died on
September 16 at the age of 71. Jackson was an active member of the T oroughbred segment of the Maryland horse industry. Jackson was born in Baltimore and attended the Boys Latin School of Maryland before graduating from Trinity-Pawling School in New York. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran before attending Towson State College and the University of Maryland as well as the IBM Training Center in Philadelphia, PA.

T e Maryland Farm Bureau has appointed Tyler Hough as Director of Government Relations and Kendall Abruzzese as a new Regional Field Manager.
Jackson worked as an assistant trainer and
trainer for many years. He based his training business in Camden, SC, and Fair Hill, MD. He was also an offi cial at several steeplechase meets in the mid-Atlantic region. Jackson was known for his Halloween parties in the Tea Barn at Fair Hill as well as his open hospitality, hosting Christmas parties. Later in life, he began a computer ser- vices business named Taylor-Made Comput- ers, which served customers primarily in the Maryland horse community.
Jackson wrote
the software template that became the basis of repository sales reports at Fasig Tipton and Keeneland in 1995.
