Greystone Farm in Brookeville has been a fixture of the Montgomery County equestrian scene since 1972. Te farm was founded that year by Anne Cowles, who holds a British Horse Society Assistant Instruc- tor degree and who competed through Fourth Level in Dressage and through Preliminary in Eventing. Anne’s daughter K.C. now teaches at Greystone as well. K.C. produced her own Miss Carlisle up through CCI-level Preliminary eventing, and has competed through Tird Level in Dressage. She has her USDF Bronze Medal. Between the two of them, the Cowles have educated and nurtured hundreds of pony club- bers, eventers, fox hunters, and dressage riders over the decades. Wel- come to the MHC family!
Felicia Balzano recently purchased Southwind Farm, and she tells us she is thrilled to introduce the new facility as Rainbow Rooster Farm at Southwind. Balzano was a riding instructor for many years at the Woodland Horse Center, where she coached both the dressage and event teams. Balzano herself was taught by dressage trainer Hilda Gur- ney in California. Rainbow Rooster Farm will offer lessons, training, and boarding, and Balzano has plans to update the facility with new footing for all arenas and updated watering systems throughout the property. Congratulations on your new business!

Olympic Eventing squad, and she specializes in starting off-the-track Toroughbreds as well as warmbloods and bringing them up the ranks. She teaches students of all ages from beginner through advanced in the Eventing, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper disciplines. She says “the safety and well-being of horse and rider is my top concern in finding their ultimate potential. I also like to emphasize having fun, otherwise riding is pointless.” Monica is known to campaign Maryland-breds. She owns Utah Beach, a 2019 Oldenburg gelding bred by MHC Board Member Dr. Elizabeth Callahan, who won the East Coast Future Event Horse Championship in 2022. She also owns Malibu Rock, a 2007 Maryland- bred Toroughbred by No Armistice who Fiss competed through the CCI3* level. Welcome to MHC!
