Chelsea Senior Living, based in Fanwood, N.J., has opened the assisted living and memory care community, The Chelsea at Brookhaven, in Yaphank, N.Y. The com- munity’s independent living community has been open for two years.
Miami-based Lloyd Jones has acquired two communities. The Woodlands at Hillcrest, in Lincoln, Neb., was built in 2018 and has 89 assisted living and memory care residences. It will be operated by Lloyd Jones Senior Liv- ing, the firm’s senior housing management division, and rebranded as AVIVA Woodlands. River Bend Assisted Living and Memory Care, an 89-residence senior living commu- nity in Rochester, Minn., will be rebranded as AVIVA River Bend and have 16 memory care residences converted to transitional residences. The community was built in 2014 and is locat- ed 1.5 miles from the Mayo Clinic.
Silverado Senior Living, based in Irvine, Ca- lif., has announced two new communities, increasing the number of states in which it operates from six to eight. Silverado Red Rock Memory Care Community, in Las Vegas, Nev., was to open in March; Silverado Frederick, in Frederick, Md., is to open mid-2022. Each will offer 72 residences for memory care.
Dallas-based Sonida Senior Living, Inc., has purchased two recently renovated senior living communities, both near downtown Indianapolis: Northfield Senior Living and Southfield Senior Living, with a combined 157 independent living units. This is the company’s first acquisition since 2016, said president and CEO Kimberly S. Lody.
Atlanta-based The Arbor Company has opened the leasing center for The Arbor at Delray, Delray Beach, Fla. Slated to open in early 2023, it is to offer 187 residences: 89 independent living; 76 assisted living; and 22 memory care.
Toledo, Ohio-based Welltower has formed a long-term strategic partnership with Reuben Brothers in conjunction with Reuben Broth- ers’ acquisition of Avery Healthcare, one of the United Kingdom’s major operators of

Country Meadows of Lancaster, Pa., has rebranded as Providence Place Senior Living at Lancaster, under the ownership of the Country Meadows’ sister company, Providence Place. The community will be the company’s seventh in Pennsylvania; it provides assisted living and two-stage memory care living.
Sunrise Senior Living, based in McLean, Va., has opened two new communities. Sunrise Redwood City is located in the Silicon Valley area of Redwood City, Calif., and features Span- ish-influenced architectural elements. It has 56 assisted living suites, such as the one-bedroom Denver model pictured, 19 Reminiscence suites in its memory care neighborhood, and 17 Terrace Club suites for those in the early stages of memory loss. Sunrise of Mountain Lakes, in Mountain Lakes, N.J., is less than an hour from Manhattan and has many outdoor features including a walking path. It offers assisted living and memory care.
