Belmont Village, based in Houston, has opened the discovery center for Belmont Village Coral Gables, a collaboration with Baptist Health South Florida, in Coral Ga- bles, Fla. The community offers 232 inde- pendent living, assisted living, and memory care apartments. Its ground floor houses Healthy Living by Baptist Health South Flor- ida, staffed by Baptist Health and for seniors in the Belmont Village community and the larger area.
Berengaria, a portfolio company of Marcus Investments, together in partnership with Naperville, Ill. -based Charter Senior Living, has completed the acquisition of Charter Senior Living of Hazel Crest in Hazel Crest, Ill. This asset is the fourth senior living prop- erty added to Marcus Investment’s growing senior living portfolio. The 64-apartment community offers assisted living and mem- ory care.
Chelsea Senior Living, based in Fanwood, N.J., and its joint partner real estate develop- er and investor Trammell Crow Company have announced plans for a three-story, 93- room senior living community in Fair Lawn, N.J., to be called The Chelsea at Fair Lawn. The community, to be managed by Chelsea, is slated to open in December and offers 26 independent living and 67 assisted living and memory care residences.
LCB Senior Living, LLC, based in Norwood, Mass., has closed on the purchase of the Wingate Residences at Boylston Place, a 48-apartment independent and assisted living community in Chestnut Hill, Mass. LCB also acquired and will convert an emp- ty adjacent Wingate building to residences and common space. The community is now named The Residence at Boylston Place and have 99 apartments.
Mississauga, Canada-based PointClickCare has partnered with Sound Physicians, a na- tional physician partner, to offer a virtual health solution intended to bring greater access to telemedicine and around-the- clock care.
LifeCare Properties, based in Biloxi, Miss., and New Orleans-based investment group ERG Enterprises are slated to open The Blake at Lubbock, in Lubbock, Texas, in 2023. The resort-style community will offer assisted living and memory care. Managed by Blake Man- agement Group, it will be the fourth Blake community in Texas.

Brookdale Senior Living, based in Nashville, Tenn., raised more than $1.2 million in 2021 as a Diamond National Team for the Alzhei- mer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Brookdale has been a Diamond Level Na- tional Team since 2008, and since then has raised more than $19 million to support the care, research, and advocacy efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Funds are raised through associate, resident, and family par- ticipation in local Walk to End Alzheimer's events and from company business partners.
Five Star Senior Living, based in Newton, Mass., has rebranded as AlerisLife, Inc., with the website
alerislife.com. The company’s senior living management services will con-
tinue to be called Five Star Senior Living. The rebranded company, named for a Latin word meaning “to foster, nourish, and de- velop,” will be expanding from primarily se- nior living owner and operator into growth in active adult and pursuing “choice-based” lifestyle services designed for other ages. In addition, AlerisLife has named Lauren C. Cody as chief customer officer and Michael S. Lopez as chief people officer. Cody was most recently senior vice president, chief of staff & chief customer officer at Pane- ra Bread Company and has held execu- tive and strategy positions at Burger King, Phelps Dodge, and Zenith. Lopez was most recently vice president of human resources for Royal Caribbean International and has held human resources corporate positions at Starbucks, Gap, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
