EIDA launches handbook on


creating a workplace domestic abuse response


EIDA Ambassador Charlotte Budd said: “The EIDA Handbook helps employers to navigate the process that can help victim- survivors in the best possible way, whilst showing compassion and understanding.”


AVEVA hosted the launch of the Handbook with a panel of distinguished speakers. Jess Phillips MP said: “Businesses and employers need to understand they have a responsibility for victims and perpetrators.”


Amanda McCloskey, CIS Security commented: “One in four women and one in seven men will be affected by domestic abuse in their lifetime. In the security industry, we are experts at focusing on the safety of our customers' buildings and occupiers. Now, we must look inward at the safety of our people and their experiences”.

he Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA) has launched the EIDA Handbook.


This reflects the views of survivors of domestic abuse as well as case studies from employers who have already implemented a workplace response.


The Handbook covers: • The scope of domestic abuse: • Employer’s legal responsibilities


• How to respond to someone experiencing domestic abuse


• The EIDA four-phased approach: to implementing a workplace response


How you could be associated with influential crime prevention professionals in the City


Join the City of London Crime Prevention Association as it celebrates its twentieth anniversary and gain access to the latest security updates from the City of London Police and other experts. These cover terrorism and crime threats, as well as related areas such as cyber crime, fraud prevention and - this year’s focus - preventing violence against women and girls and domestic abuse.


EIDA CEO Susan Bright concluded: “We encourage all employers to use this Handbook to develop and embed an effective workplace domestic abuse response to support their people.”
