Our printers are certified members of the World Land Trust and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The World Land Trust initiative invests in preserving environmentally important forests w hich are under imminent threat of deforestation through carbon balancing. Carbon balancing is a scheme that invests money in offsetting the amount of CO2 produced during them anufacturer process. The lead patron of this scheme is Sir David Attenborough.

The FSC is an international non- profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry.

We believe in making a real statement and a positive contribution towards saving our

© CITY SECURITY MAGAZINE – AUTUMN 2022

An article from New Zealand, three years on from the attack on the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch, focuses on its impact on the Muslim community and assesses the progress that has been made since then. The attack on Salman Rushdie shows those responsible for security the challenges they face and the ever-changing nature of the threat, especially at events and conferences.

We have a contribution from Holland giving us a Dutch perspective on crime prevention. Additionally, an article from Tech Against Terrorism (a new UN initiative) outlines international terrorists’ use of the internet and the need for collaboration to counter it.

A profile of the recently retired Dean Haydon QPM, the former Metropolitan Police DAC and Senior National Coordinator for Counter Terror Policing, explains the international nature of the role.

In our ongoing support of the security sector and partnership working, we include reports from the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals, the CSSC and the next in our series of profiles of Chartered Security Professionals (this time from Australia to reflect our international theme) and front-line security officers.

We continue the knowledge sharing with additional articles on access control technology, drones, the latest on the Protect Duty and updates on security training.

Magazines will be available at the Emergency Services Show 21-22 September at the NEC, Birmingham. We plan to visit so let us know if you’d like to meet up!

We have a joint stand with the City of London Crime Prevention Association and CSSC at the upcoming International Security Expo on 27-28 September at Olympia and hope to see you there.

We will be launching the Security Article of the Year 2022 competition in November and will announce the finalists soon. Watch this space!
