Thompson Park Seniors Club Meets each Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in Rooms A & B. Play bingo, cards and more. Meals-on-Wheels The Human Services Association will deliver low-cost meals to those confined to their homes due to health problems. For program information and registration call (562) 806-5400. Senior Nutrition Program Low cost, nutritious meals served cafeteria style at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, in Rooms 3 & 4 at Simms Park. Call from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a reservation, (562) 925-6485. Donation is $2.25. Operated by the Human Services Association. Exercise for Seniors Meets each Monday, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Simms Park. This low impact fitness class focuses on stretching, cardiovascular conditioning and relaxation techniques. $1 per meeting, no pre-registration required. Bellflower Art Association Holds art demonstrations by professional artists. Will meet 3rd Tuesday every month (September through June*) from 5:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. in Rooms A&B at Thompson Park. Thompson Park Oil Painting Club This free club is looking for adults interested in painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor or pastel). Thompson Park Quilts of Valor Club Cut, sew, press and create quilts to be awarded to our military veterans. You will need to provide your own sewing machine. We will have fabric, patterns or kits you can sew. We also need volunteer quilters and people to hand stitch binding. If you love to sew, or want to learn new techniques and shortcuts or patterns, this is for you. Come join our volunteers and show your appreciation for those that keep us free. Walk-in registration only, no telephone registration will be accepted. Space is limited for all excursions, so register early! Completed release form along with full payment are due at the time of registration. Fees are subject to change and are refundable if trip is canceled by the Department of Parks and Recreation. No refund will be issued on excursions canceled by the participant after the stated deadline date. All excursions will depart from and return to T. Mayne Thompson Park. Check-in time is 30 minutes prior to the listed departure time.
