Gulfstream Smoke Evacuation Valve
There is a smoke evacuation valve panel located above the baggage door in the aft lavatory. The purpose of the Gulfstream smoke evacuation valve is to assist the crew in clearing cabin smoke. By slightly deflating the baggage door seal, smoke is sucked out the rear of the aircraft. Although this can be effective, cabin pressure can be reduced by this action. Crew coordination is critical here. This operation is never to be undertaken without direction from the cockpit.
