Symptoms - The key to symptoms is your ability to be aware of, and recognize your own symptoms as soon as they appear.
Symptoms can include any of the below list:
Air hunger Apprehension Fatigue Nausea Headache Dizziness Denial
Hot & Cold Flashes Euphoria Belligerence Blurred vision Numbness Tingling extremities
Preventive hypoxia countermeasures: • Fly at an altitude where oxygen is not required • Fly in a pressurized cabin
• Fly in accordance with the regulations on the use of supplemental oxygen
TREATMENT
The treatment for hypoxia is oxygen. Remember to slow your breathing to reduce the chance of hyperventilation. Along with oxygen, descend the aircraft to increase the available pressure. Recovery from hypoxia happens very quickly after the administration of oxygen.
