MEET OUR EXPERTS Autumn 2022

We hope this issue will bring a warm glow to the dark winter months ahead, with a package of inspirational stories showing what can be achieved when people and organisations work together to support schools.

Music brings pleasure to us all and is an important part of many people’s lives. Yet it has been increasingly sidelined in schools as funding cuts have taken hold. That’s why we’re delighted to profile the fabulous Music for All charity, with its ambition of giving every child the opportunity to play and create music.

We also talk to one multi-academy trust that is raising pupil aspirations in an area of deprivation by extending community and careers provision outwards from its five schools into exciting long- term local partnerships.

Our cover story is from fundraiser Alison Cox, who developed her part-time role to bring in funding for large-scale refurbishment projects across her secondary school. Alison shares her tips on how to build a long-term culture of giving, whilst school income generating manager Amanda Burgess recalls her personal experience of getting started.
