A LOVE STORY AND A HEARTFELT

THANK YOU H

arold Saydah was a young Air Force pilot stationed at

a small base in Niagara Falls, NY, in 1952. With heightened worries of a Soviet invasion, Hal needed to receive more flight hours. Te military told him he could take a plane and fly anywhere he wanted on the weekend as long as he flew four hours per every 24 hours he was away. Hal flew home to New Jersey.

One weekend while he was home, a good friend invited him to an engagement drop-in party for a couple that Hal didn’t know. He was unsure about going, but his friend talked him into it. He met Audrey, the bride to be, and said to himself, “Wow, her fiancé is a lucky guy.” Ten Hal flew back to his base and continued his service.

Hal and his daughters, Cindy Burkhart and

Vickie Halloch, who assisted with taking care of the Dogwood Courtyard garden.
