Each year I look forward to the Fall issue of FLOURISH because it contains the stories of those who make Landis Communities so special, as well as Community Impact Features and a snapshot of the Annual Report.
PRESIDENT & CEO FROM THE
A
s I reflect on this issue, I am drawn to the story of the butterflies (page 16) and how it mirrors this time for Landis
Communities. We are emerging from the pandemic, like the butterflies from their cocoon, with new ways to lift each other up and make life meaningful.
I am grateful for Hal and his daughters who are honoring their loved one by planting flowers others can enjoy (page 6). I am encouraged by Merle who is using his knowledge of how to grow corn to produce a harvest for his friends and neighbors at Welsh Mountain Home (page 10). And I am inspired by Doris who is staying active and helping others (page 14).
Please take a moment to read how the Positive Approach to Care training for all Landis Communities team members is having an impact – at work and in everyday life (page 18). We did not know when this program began that it would have such a deep effect on our team. I personally learned much from this training!
As we welcome each new season, we continue to see ways the residents, clients, families and team members of Landis Communities inspire each other to reach new heights as they take flight in our community.
With gratitude and God’s blessing to you,
Larry Zook President/CEO, Landis Communities
