Electrical and mechanical training areas are available to help students develop essential skills in electrical installation and maintenance, hydraulics and pneumatics and mechanical fitting principles.


Additionally, virtual reality dynamic simulation training areas provide immersive learning experiences to enhance safety training and operational efficiency.


Zoe Lewis, Principal and Chief Executive of Middlesbrough College, highlighted the centre’s importance for both students and local industries. She said: “The opening of the TTE Centre marks a significant step forward in our commitment to providing students with the skills and knowledge that employers are looking for.


“This facility will strengthen our local economy, ensuring that the next generation of skilled professionals are equipped to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.”

The opening ceremony welcomed Mayor Chris Cooke alongside industry leaders including AV Dawson, British Steel and Morgan Sindall, the contractors who built the centre, as well as students — all eager to see how the TTE Centre will shape the future of technical education in the region.


Guests had the opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced engineering workshops, process control labs and immersive virtual reality training areas.


The new TTE Centre features industry-standard training equipment and immersive learning environments designed to simulate real- world scenarios, preparing students for successful careers in engineering and process industries.


The centre includes advanced engineering workshops, which are fitted out with state of the art industry standard equipment to


commitment to supporting regional industries and providing students with the tools they need to succeed in the workforce.


By offering access to the latest equipment and immersive learning experiences, the centre ensures that students are job-ready and prepared to meet the challenges of modern engineering and process industries.
