Latest defibrillator donation from

Sited on the outside wall of the Kiln Road One Stop in Newbury, this is the latest of a number of defibrillators which Aldermaston Wastewater and Sewage Pumping Systems Company Pump Technology Ltd has donated to the local community to celebrate the anniversary of their 30th year of trading.

Seen here handing over the unit is (left) Jonathan Barker, Pump Technology Ltd’s MD and (right) David Hamer - Operations Manager & Paramedic, Community Engagement & Training for the South-Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

To celebrate their 30-year anniversary, Pump Technology Ltd wanted to contribute something which would provide a lasting benefit to the health and wellbeing of people in their local and regional community.

Donated units are already in place in sports grounds, arts centres, museums, office campuses and other locations from Kew Green to Chiswick and Sunbury.

This is just the latest donation with more to come.

Jonathan Barker, MD Pump Technology Ltd, comments – “We have always done our very best to invest in our local communities. We are active in supporting many aspects of youth sports, particularly though our involvement with the London Irish Charitable Foundation, who have been key to identifying and agreeing locations for this latest batch of defibrillators. We sincerely hope that these defibrillators are never required, but if ever an emergency arises we would like to think that we have played some small part in saving a life”

David Hamer, Operations Manager & Paramedic, Community Engagement & Training for the South-Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, comments

“It has been excellent working in partnership with Pump Technology Ltd and the London Irish Charitable Foundation on this project. The 8 defibrillators that are now fully installed across the county of Berkshire will add to an ever-increasing pool of these

lifesaving devices. As Jonathan has already mentioned I hope they are never needed to be used, but feel assured these devices are available to local communities should the need arise.”

Andy Keast, Chief Executive, London Irish Charitable Foundation comments – “Yet again defibrillators have been in the news for their essential part in saving lives. I am really delighted that Jeremy Brownlee of Pump Technology Ltd has involved both myself and the London Irish Charitable Foundation in this extremely worthwhile programme and I am happy to be part of the team. Working with a variety of locations, Ambulance services and community organisations we know that providing access to more and more of these lifesaving units is essential”
