This issue of Guild Gazette is our biggest to date! Thanks to the number of top suppliers wanting to advertise, we have been able to increase the number of information packed pages in the industry’s top trade journal, bringing you a whopping 100 page March/April issue of Guild Gazette.
At the start of the year we launched the nominations for The Guild Awards of Excellence 2016 and we’ve had an overwhelming response. You voted in your thousands, and we have now counted the nominations and are thrilled to reveal the shortlist for The Guild Awards of Excellence 2016. Starting on page 30, you can see the final awards shortlist, and read quotes from some of the successful companies about what winning a Guild Award of Excellence would mean to them.
This year we have also launched The Guild’s ‘Genuine Beauty Campaign’ to help address the problems posed to the professional beauty industry by the grey market. Lack of education and desire for a low cost is seeing many professional therapists purchasing fake beauty products from unofficial suppliers. This is not only having a detrimental effect on your product sales, but it is also damaging the industry. Turn to page 44 to read more about the campaign, and the dangers of buying unofficial products.
Working in the beauty industry it is important not only to play the part, but to look the part. A uniform is a large contributing factor to the identity or your salon or spa, it can say a lot about the style of your business and the type of clientele you wish to attract. There are many factors to take into consideration when choosing your salon uniform, so where do you begin? Turn to page 48 to find out how to ‘Dress The Part’.
Using social media for your business can be insightful, educational and a great networking opportunity. However, it takes a great deal of work, flexibility and consistency to be successful. If you are not careful you can easily burn out, so how can you juggle growing your business without running out of social media steam? Turn to page 52, where with help from big professional beauty brands such as Sienna X and Nouveau Lashes we explain ‘How To Be A Success On Social Media’.
Throughout the magazine we aim to give you plenty of ideas of how to grow your business. Guild Gazette is the only trade magazine which allows you to earn CPD points in conjunction with the training arm of the organisation, Guild Training International.
