ritish Airways is one of Barbados’s most loyal and longest- serving partners, and we are delighted to have recently celebrated a significant milestone – the 65th anniversary of
the airline serving Barbados from London. To commemorate this wonderful occasion, we invited 65 top-selling UK travel agents on an experiential mega-fam, offering them a first-class Barbados experience! From luxurious catamaran cruises, exhilarating off-road island safaris, St Nicholas Abbey and its new Heritage Railway to sampling Barbados’s delicious local cuisine, world- renowned rum and, of course, our fabulous entertainment.
Over the past 65 years, this partnership has seen many incredible moments. One highlight is Barbados being one of only four destinations in the world to have a scheduled service on Concorde. Another is that Queen Elizabeth II took her very first Concorde flight from Barbados to London at the end of her Silver Jubilee Royal Tour of the Caribbean on 2 November 1977.
Barbados and British Airways operate in perfect partnership, and the 65th anniversary gave us the chance to not only celebrate this historic occasion but also to express our gratitude for the faithful service provided and our excitement for the future as we look forward to nurturing the partnership for another 65 years.
