DIARY DATES Holetown Festival
February This week-long festival takes place on the west coast of Barbados and commemorates the landing of the English settlers with street parties, historic re-enactments and displays of Bajan art, craſt and food.
Reggae Festival
April From pulsating parties and reggae cruises to shows and dances focusing on the Caribbean genre, this festival is undoubtedly the most highly anticipated reggae event on the island.
Oistins Fish Festival April
This annual festival has celebrated fisheries and fisher folk since 1977. Popular attractions include a fish-boning competition, crab and boat races and the traditional “climbing of the grease pole”.
Gospelfest May
The spirit and faith of Bajan people is highlighted at this all-singing, all-dancing two-week event.
Crop Over Festival
July and August Known to be frequented by Rihanna, this is Barbados’s signature summer event. It marks the end of the sugar cane crop season and incorporates art, craſt, calypso music and flower shows. The Grand Kadooment is the climax of the festival, featuring masqueraders, costumed bands and fireworks.
Barbados Food and Rum Festival November
Chefs and distillers of local, regional and international acclaim come together to provide culinary demonstrations and foodie delights to epicurean visitors. Oenophiles will be happy to hear wine also has a strong presence.

Run Barbados November/December A trailblazer since 1983, this running event offers a 5k or 10k race, midnight fun run, half marathon or full marathon, so something to satisfy visitors of all fitness levels.
