WHAT A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE VENUECONNECT 2018 IN TORONTO WAS! AT EV- ERY TURN WAS ENERGY AND EXCITEMENT FOR THE FOUNDATION, ITS PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES, AND INITIATIVES.


We began with the Foundation Golf Tournament at the beau- tiful Lionhead Golf & Country Club outside Toronto.

Thank you so much to all out wonder- ful sponsors for investing in the tournament and the Foundation to help us have a wonderful event. sponsored by Spectra. Both online and live, the Silent Auction generated excitement and bids both days. Attendees had the op- - ets. Tuesday evening provided the opportunity to continue the excitement by honoring this year’s 30 I UNDER I 30 Class of 2018 at a reception where they were presented with their framed  for sponsoring the program, and MTS Seating and Elevator Ser- vice Company for sponsoring the event. Wednesday evening took us to the Foundation’s Dollars for Di-


versity reception where the excitement was exploding as people yelled out pledges until $40,00 had been raised! Also, Wednesday evening was the end of conference party where a successful ef- fort was undertaken to raise $10,000 in order to see Brad Mayne, CVE, President and CEO of IAVM and the Executive Commit- tee of the Board of Directors perform a song and dance. By the end of the conference, YOU had raised over $130,00 for YOUR Foundation…for YOUR Future! As we begin the work of the Foundation post-VenueConnect, I want to begin by welcoming four new members to the Board of Trustees. Alexis Berggren, Troy Thorn, and Jenifer Johnson have joined us in the challenge ahead to continue moving forward in the Foundation’s mission to increase the positive impact and vitality of the public assembly industry by funding research, edu- cation, and resource development. As we say hello to new faces, we bid farewell to friends who
