Focus on Our Churches
Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church Grunthal, Manitoba Our missionaries for the month of Feb-
ruary were Josh and Josie Dyck, who are settling into their new home and ministry in Papua. Josie and their daughter Katrina are both being treated for Lyme disease. In March, we highlighted our missionary Elfi Zissner, working in Germany with refugees from the Mideast. Te FEBC Directors met at our church
during Feb. 17-20. We pray that the Lord will have given these men and women the wisdom to make decisions that will be beneficial for all Fellowship churches! Each month our church provides a
Sunday worship hour to the residents of Menno Home, a care facility. Te movie “War Room” was shown in
our church on Mar. 11. Tis movie under- scored the fact that all things are possible through God, and the power of prayer! Each April we hold a “Free” garage
sale. Tis provides an opportunity for our church family to get to know and minister to people in our community who would not normally enter a church. “Discovery Time” allows students in Grunthal public schools to receive reli-
gious instruction. Kids are being reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through this avenue of service! Marilyn. Tiessen, Correspondent
Dalmeny Bible Church Dalmeny, Saskatchewan Dennis Friesen, Pastor Mark and Jessica Redekop were com-
missioned on Feb. 7 before departing to Schroeder, Brazil to serve with Quest for two years. Quest is a camping and retreat ministry led by Scott and Patsy Buhler. Te youth group hosted a Family Day
Carnival in February to raise money for a snowboarding trip to Jasper Alb. in late March. Our Kids Club hosted a Fun Family
Easter Event — Road to Resurrection — for all ages which took us through events leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection. Te Community Church joined us for a Good Friday Communion Service. Marilyn Harder, Correspondent

Abbotsford, British Columbia Ryan Peixoto, Pastor Oſten when a home town hockey team
scores a goal, the crowd goes crazy waving their white towels. Fans experience a momentary euphoria, but it is not lasting. Pastor Ryan used this image for our Easter Sunday celebration. Te fact that our Lord and Saviour died and rose again is truly an event that has lasting impact and meaning to our lives every day and should be cele- brated even more than our favourite team’s goal. When Pastor Ryan said “He is risen,” the music started, and the congregation waved towels. We rejoiced in what Jesus did for us. Following the service we served specially decorated Easter cakes. We definitely had celebrated that Jesus rose. An eight-year-old girl told her dad as they were leaving the church, “that was a great service.” How awesome. We are thrilled with the growth in
our children’s ministry. In the area of the church where children meet, walls display

new colors, and kid-friendly murals are being painted to help make it a fun and friendly environment. Sixty-three children enjoyed a week-
long Drama Camp during spring break in March. Children were introduced to basic drama skills; participated in music; and exercised their creativity in the craſt area. Te Gospel message was clearly presented through drama. What a thrill to have 25 kids pray to ask Jesus into their lives! Each child who prayed was given a Bible to take home. Tis resulted in a couple of new families attending our Palm Sunday brunch and the Good Friday service.
Northeast Bible Church Calgary Alberta John Fehr, Pastor About a year ago, two children joined
our worship team, Athalia Ogbomo, 10 and Eliya Ogbomo, 8. On Easter Sunday, these young girls gathered their courage and took turns at the piano playing the songs for this special worship service because our worship leader and only ac- companist, Deinma Adokiene was away on vacation in Africa. Te girls were a blessing to all of us and a credit to their Lord. On Friday and Saturday, April 29 and
30, we are holding our annual Woman’s Retreat at the Carriage House Inn in Calgary. Tis is an opportunity for our ladies to get away and spend time together to fellowship and encourage one another. We start with a dinner Friday evening and finish with lunch Saturday. Our special speaker is Magdaline Ngetich, who is also a member our congregation. Julie Ann Simpson, Correspondent
Vita Bible Church Vita, Manitoba Jonathan Coutts, Pastor Our study of Ephesians resumed in
February. We examined how our new iden- tity in Christ is worked out in our present relationships with one another. At a love banquet for couples entitled “Shall We
