he Welding World Association is proud to welcome Momentum Group as new members. Their
Directors wanted to talk with like minded welding companies, and they decided that the WWA was a key player in the Welding Industry that could help them. Here, we speak with Company Directors, Anthony Bale, Tom Winbow and Gareth Carter, about their award-winning business. Momentum is a welder training company delivering qualifications to those currently unemployed and looking to change their lives and learn a new skill, plus so much more. With state-of-the-art welder training
facilities already established in Sheffield and Birmingham, the company has recently expanded and opened up several new welding centre across the UK. These include Newcastle and Basingstoke with another facility in the Midlands to be announced shortly. Founded over 15 years ago, Momentum
offers flexible training courses for the whole of the UK, and its mission is to provide learners with authoritative
and impartial expert advice, knowhow and safety assurance through engineering, materials and joining technologies. “We offer life changing training, skills
and qualifications,” says Tom Winbow. “Momentum is a specialist provider of welder training. We can accommodate all levels and skill sets at our training facility. We pride ourselves on providing the highest level of quality when it comes to the welding opportunities we offer. From the challenging qualifications designed to test the learners capabilities through to using accredited modules that are designed for the industry, we ensure Momentum delivers outstanding training to support the engineering sector.” Momentum’s course formats can
run a week to a month and on to full apprenticeship support. It offers pre- employment assessment, pre and coded welder training for MIG/MMA and TIG, as well as conversion training. Programmes can include Health, Safety
and Environment; Welding Procedures and Welder Qualification; Diploma Welding Engineering; Welding Coordination and

learners onsite to help them move into employment. We also organise regular free jobs fairs for local engineering companies to attend, allowing them to showcase their business and meet with our learners. Our welder training means all our
learners are instructed by some of the best tradesmen following one of our many structured courses. We can test students on many materials including carbon steel (plate and pipe) AS1554- 1; stainless steel; duplex and super duplex pipe; all grades of titanium; aluminium and Cr Mo, with also every welding method and process covered.” Anthony Bale concludes: “We are
