he Welding World Association has been very active during 2024. The management
development of the only true Welding Association has seen 10 new member companies join this year, so far [including the Momentum Group featured on page 6]. Further proof that the benefits of communication within our welding industry is much needed. During Q4, Welding World
Association will be present at the MTC’s annual event held at its impressive facilities on Ansty Park in Coventry, on Wednesday, 6 November and featuring the hot topic of ‘Laser Matters’. As well as hearing from industry leaders and experts providing inspiring talks and discovering new innovative technologies, attendees will also be able to meet with like-minded individuals from the industry; laser technology experts and support organisations to help take your
laser journey to the next step. You can also take the opportunity
to tour the MTC laser facilities, giving you an insight into why the MTC is leading the way for laser processing in the UK. See page 9 for more details. The Welding World Magazine
in this issue features an interview with Mike Vacher, past AWD Director. Mike retired several years ago from the Welding Industry and the Association. It was a true pleasure to catch up with Mike, a real gentleman of the welding industry. Enjoy reading the interview with Mike on page 14. The year has moved at speed
