ROBOTICS & AUTOMATION ARMED FOR COLLABORATION C
o-Bro Flex is a high-tech workstation for robotic collaborative MIG-MAG welding
with a comprehensive and intuitive software interface that integrates the latest generation of the Uranos NX 5000 PME welding generator from Böhler Welding, the collaborative robotic arm and all accessories. The collaborative robot concept, flexibility, all-round accessibility, and extremely simple programming make the difference here. With a working area of 2,000 x
1,000 x 1,200 mm length, width and height respectively, the Co-Bro Flex provides a number of benefits including advanced software for ease of use and flexibility in programming, thanks to the wireless 4-button key-pad that minimises the use of the touchscreen. The perfect weld seam: Combines
Böhler Welding’s expertise and the seamless integration of collaborative robotics with Böhler Arc and special welding processes. There are 490 synergic welding programs included for the welding of any
GLOBAL ROBOT CONTRACT
W
ith a focus on sustainability, one of the world’s
largest makers of industrial robots will supply Volvo production sites worldwide. Fanuc and Volvo Cars have
signed a global contract that sets out a programme of robot supply to the automotive manufacturer’s plants across the globe. The contract will see Fanuc provide industrial robots for all the various production shops included in a modern car manufacturing facility, including new battery production facilities in Europe, Asia and America. In the first phase, Fanuc will supply
more than 700 robots to a planned new manufacturing site in Kosice, Slovakia, where Volvo Cars expects the first vehicles to roll off the production line
material under any conditions. Easy ‘plug & play’: Simply connect
the Co-Bro Flex and the welding equipment to a suitable power source and utilities, and you are ready to weld. High capacity: Suitable for larger dimensions and weights of up to 1,000kg. With a 1,300 mm arc the Universal Robot UR10e 6-axis collaborative robot used has an accuracy +/-0.1 mm. Table divider inside: Making it
possible to carry out welding and workpiece positioning operations simultaneously to improve productivity. A 360° accessible barrier: Supports
the easy positioning of bulky parts and complex shapes. An optional extra of an integrated
high vacuum (torch extraction) system can be specified, and the system is also ready for the fitting of an external low vacuum solution. Within the welding industry Böhler
has over 100 years of experience, more than 50 subsidiaries and more than 4,000 distribution partners around the world. The company’s extensive product
portfolio and welding expertise combined with its global presence guarantees it is close when a customer needs support. Always good to know if you are taking the first step into robotic automation.

integration of robots into the production lines, Fanuc’s team of expert engineers has been busy developing specific hardware and software solutions for a wide range of applications that cover the entire chain of manufacture. Volvo Cars plans to produce only
electric vehicles from 2030 and achieve CO2
neutrality by 2040.
The new factory in Slovakia will be a carbon-neutral manufacturing facility, with Fanuc contributing to the site’s sustainability. “The fact that our robots
