IN THIS ISSUE FINALLY

Former Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne an MP at the time of the Brexit vote (now Editor of the London Evening Standard) has stated in a July issue of GQ magazine that he believes, in relation to Brexit, that “while we legally leave in March next year, we are not leaving any of the arrangements.” Osborne continues “The irony is, that the only thing we will be leaving is the room where all the decisions are being made”.

Once again our Government is taking far too long to correct the influence of “their” policies on the British people.

The responsibility for creating the Referendum opportunity, can be laid at the feet of the Conservative party and former Prime Minister, David Cameron, who saw it as the only way to neutralise the impact of UKIP at that time. That decision will ultimately lead to the demise of that political party if the appetite of the electorate is a) not preserved and b) there is any consequent pain attributed to the process.

Whoever believed that the EU wanted to negotiate a deal in the first place, was somewhat naive, given the impact on the EU should other Member states follow and themselves wish to leave the Union. We should now all prepare for what will inevitably be, a hard Brexit in 2019 and to start looking for any upside we can encounter as a result.
