RECOMMENDS
Eye supplement Oxidative stress occurs naturally with ageing and can be triggered by diet, lifestyle, UV, blue light and other factors. It may lead to serious eye diseases such as macular degeneration and may also cause annoying eye floaters, shadowy dots and lines that drift around your vision. Theia Bio’s Clearer eye health supplement contains zinc, which contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Shona Wilkinson, former head nutritionist at Tesco’s NutriCentre, calls Clearer an “innovative” and “important” supplement. Use the code HEALTH25 to get 25% off. Offer ends 10 April 2023.

Why you shouldn’t ignore feeling faint or breathless
Tere are many reasons for feeling faint or out of breath. Importantly, heart-related causes
can lead to
significant morbidity and be poten- tially life threatening. Cardiac causes of
feeling faint are usually
heart rate or blood pressure related. Common causes are due to rhythm disturbances called arrhythmia, where the heart beats inappropri- ately too fast or too slow and can be associated with symptoms of palpi- tations and breathlessness. One of the common arrhythmias called atrial fibrillation (AF) has many trig- gers and risk factors, which unfortu- nately increase with age. AF is asso- ciated with a significant increase stroke risk, which can be prevented if diagnosed early. Faints or near
blackouts can be caused by AF, as well as if the heart becomes too slow due to heart block. Tere are now many technology advances, which can capture these arrhythmias using smart watches or patch heart moni- tors and even an injectable micro monitor the size of a pen lid can be implanted to monitor the heart for up to four years is now possible, allowing these rhythm disturbances to be picked up and diagnosed early.
