Frazer Jones data reveals a sizeable discrepancy between what UK businesses plan to pay when hiring an HR professional versus the salary that secures their new recruit
Global HR executive search and recruitment consultancy Frazer Jones can report that, on average, UK businesses pay 7% more than planned when hiring an HR candidate. T is expectation gap widens the
more senior the role; for junior to mid-level professionals it’s 3%, climbing to 16% for chief people offi cers and chief HR offi cers. T is is reinforced by a Frazer Jones survey of UK HR profes- sionals which revealed that, of those who moved role in 2023, 20% secured a salary increase of over 30%. Nick Croucher, lead partner at

But the market has moved on and pay has changed hugely in recent years. T is data shows that, despite a tough economy, there’s still signifi cant demand for commercial senior HR professionals.
