Q&A
C RYOTHER APY MARIA ENSABELLA, FOUNDER OF LONDONCRYO
Who is the treatment best for? Whole Body Cryotherapy is a treatment that is used for sports recovery, pain management, beauty and general wellbeing.
How does it actually work? The body is subjected to really cold temperatures (-130C) for up to three minutes in order to activate its fight or flight response. This gets the blood to oxygenate and rush to core areas, helping to push out toxins, release endorphins and boost energy. It also has an analgesic effect for pain management.
Tips to get the most out of a session? Always do a session 24 hours aſter an intense training session to help with recovery. For people who have trouble sleeping it’s great to do it in the aſternoon as it helps get a good night’s rest.
How oſten should you have the treatment? Everyone has their own cryotherapy journey. We suggest eight to 10 sessions over a three-week period. Your body really starts understanding and reaping the benefits aſter this period of time. Whole Body Cryotherapy at LondonCryo, £90 per session.

INFR ARED SAUNAS MATAJE KOSOROK, SPA DIRECTOR AT KX & KXU
Who is this treatment best for? Almost anyone can benefit from an infrared sauna session. The benefits include, but are not limited to: detoxification, skin purification, energy/immunity boosting and muscle recovery.
How does it actually work? Infrared saunas use far-infrared light, which heats the body rather than the room. This results in deeper tissue penetration and activation of the sweat glands, thus eliminating toxins from the body. Infrared saunas work at a lower and more comfortable temperature than a regular sauna, resulting in a more relaxing experience.
Any tips to get the most out of a session? Hydration is key. Make sure you always drink plenty of water before, during and aſter your session to avoid dehydration. Avoid alcohol before your session as this can increase the risk of dehydration.
How oſten should you have the treatment? Infrared sauna therapy is very safe and may be used daily. Infrared sauna at KXU, £40 for 25 minutes.
