Fairmont Royal Pavilion ST JAMES, BARBADOS

Located on the western shores of the island, the Fairmont Royal Pavilion is the definition of luxury in Barbados. Its location is ideal, being close to high-end shopping, dining, golfing and cultural venues. The three-story beachfront resort is set on 11

lush acres in the parish of St James. All suites and guest rooms offer unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea and feature private balconies or patios with direct beach access. Unique to the property is a three-bedroom, two-storey villa surrounded by lush tropical gardens, offering garden views from the bedrooms and ocean views from the two terraces. The resort’s pale-pink facade has an intimate

European style and is set among exquisitely landscaped gardens featuring tropical flowers, water features and fountains. When the resort was built, it consisted of only 12 rooms. Today, it boasts 72 oceanfront rooms and suites. During their stay, guests at Fairmont

Royal Pavilion are able to enjoy dining in two restaurants, including the option of having

a relaxing meal directly on the beach. The waterfront location is also the perfect setting for a traditional British-style afternoon tea, which is served daily as a nod to the island’s history. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool,

hot tub, tennis court, fitness centre and a variety of non-motored watersports. Whether it’s serene seclusion or tropical

adventure guests seek, this resort — steeped in history and charm — is the ideal setting for discerning travellers to unplug and recharge. Barbados is located in the Lesser Antilles of

the West Indies, and is the most easterly of the Caribbean islands. Guests can enjoy the island nation’s rich history and cultural sites, as well as its vibrant music and mindblowing cuisine. Visitors can learn more about the history of

rum and its production process through guided tours and interactive exhibits at the nearby Mount Gay Distillery. For nature enthusiasts, it’s hard to beat a day swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, surfing and paddleboarding in the crystal-clear Caribbean waters.

Don’t miss For a truly unique experience, plan a private Bajan dinner for two right on the beach
