for young professionals. Our meeting room on the fourth floor was filled with enthusiastic young industry members, many of whom are new to the field. In our industry, we often joke that anyone under 50 is still considered young, given its long history. This year’s Preheat reception marked

our first attempt at organizing a pre- conference meet-and-greet specifically for young professionals. The goal was to provide an opportunity for these individuals to establish connections and network with peers before joining the main reception in the crystal ballroom, where they would meet their more

success, with a vibrant atmosphere and active participation from all attendees. It was encouraging to see so many young professionals eager to engage and build relationships within the industry. This initiative not only facilitated networking but also fostered a sense of community and support among the newer members of our field. We look forward to continuing this
tradition in future years, as it is crucial to invest in the next generation of industry members. By providing platforms for young professionals to connect and grow, we ensure the sustained vitality and innovation of our industry. In addition to our in-person event,
we are excited to introduce the Investing in the Future Foundry Community on Discord. This open forum is designed to extend the networking and support opportunities beyond the Technical Conference and Expo. The open forum is a space where young professionals can share insights, seek advice, and collaborate on projects year-round. We encourage you to share the QR code (pictured below) with your younger employees. It’s an opportunity to join and actively participate in discussions, as this platform is a valuable resource for continuous learning and professional development. If you have any questions about the open forum, you are more than welcome to reach out to erich@

About the Investing in the Future Committee The Investing in the Future Committee aims to foster networking among younger industry members, encourage their active participation within both the ICI and the broader industry, promote mentorship in leadership and production roles, and advocate for industry education at both college and earlier levels.
Education Outreach Subcommittee This subcommittee reviews the educational resources available from the ICI and explores opportunities to improve and update them while trying to get these resources into the hands of educators.
Open Forum and Mentorship Subcommittee This subcommittee has launched an open industry group chat, serving as a forum for younger industry members to network, ask questions, and share knowledge. Open to both ICI members and non-members, this platform allows participants to quickly seek advice and receive prompt responses from peers.
Our Mission The committee is dedicated to supporting and encouraging younger individuals to thrive in their investment casting careers. We are just getting started and welcome new ideas from members. Whether you’re looking to make meaningful connections as a mentor, sponsor an event to engage with the next generation, or join a subcommittee, your support is invaluable.
