Is there anything more idyllic than frolicking in water the colour of cobalt, with soft sand between your toes and the sun warming your bones? The Seychelles has 115 islands scattered across the Indian Ocean offering exactly this, as well as coral reefs, nature reserves and mountain rainforests. Unsurprisingly, the archipelago is a haven for flora and fauna – it’s home to more than 1,000 species of fish, 26 types of crab and the rare giant Aldabra tortoises.
