NCL opens bookings for largest-ever ship Norwegian Aura

Phil Davies

Norwegian Cruise Line has opened bookings for the “longest and largest” ship in its fleet. The 3,840-passenger Norwegian

Aura is set to make its debut in Europe in May 2027, before transferring to its Miami homeport the following month. The vessel will be 10%

larger than Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna at more than 340 metres long and 169,000 gross tons. New features on Norwegian Aura

will include Ocean Heights, an open-air activities complex aimed at multigenerational families. It will feature more slides than any other NCL ship, a rope-based obstacle course and cabanas overlooking a beach club. The vessel’s pool decks will be

the largest in the fleet, with more seating capacity, an additional infinity hot tub, a larger LED entertainment screen and extra open lounge areas.

Caribbean itineraries next summer, visiting either the revamped Great Stirrup Cay private island in the Bahamas or Harvest Caye, NCL’s resort-style destination in Belize. Prior to switching to Miami,

Norwegian Aura will sail a seven-day Mediterranean itinerary from Trieste to Barcelona, departing on May 21. The cruise will visit Valletta, Salerno and Civitavecchia, the port for Rome. The ship will then embark on a

14-day transatlantic repositioning sailing, before operating eastern Caribbean cruises between June and October that will take in the Dominican Republic, and the US and British Virgin Islands. In winter 2027-28, Norwegian

Aura will operate seven-day western Caribbean itineraries that will visit destinations including Roatan, in Honduras, and Costa Maya and Cozumel, in Mexico, as

well as Harvest Caye. ncl.com

I was so thrilled to win the Outstanding Achievement Award at the recent Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards, and would like to thank all my colleagues, my team and our travel partners who have supported me over the years and made this happen. I am still recovering from the (wonderful) shock of winning such a prestigious award!

Last week was back to ‘business as usual’

and it was great to spend time with our president, Mark Tamis, and the senior team at our head office in Seattle talking about 2026, 2027 and even 2028 voyages. It’s so important for all of us to share our ideas and work together – and this year, one of our aims is to collaborate and have more conversations with team members and our partners.

Wave has started really well for Seabourn, and guests still have until February 17 to benefit from our amazing ‘Explore More’ event offers.

Don’t miss out on our special Asia agent

incentive, designed to highlight Seabourn’s southeast Asia and Japan voyages – and our culinary expertise in the region. Agent partners can select from three amazing Ninja kitchen appliances as a special reward when you book and confirm any new Seabourn Asia voyage by February 17!

Happy selling.
