Contiki targets mainstream agents to fill void left by STA
Juliet Dennis
Contiki aims to work more closely with UK agents to fill the gap in the youth travel market left by the demise of STA Travel. The youth operator already has commercial agreements
with most consortia but new global chief executive Adam Armstrong said Contiki was also working more closely with a “handful” of agents who saw an opportunity to gain a larger share of younger customers. STA Travel, which had 49 branches when it
collapsed earlier this year, had provided a “significant” proportion of Contiki’s UK sales. Armstrong said: “We are trying to fill that gap. We’re

Contiki Consultation Service to offer agents one-to-one training via Zoom and help with quotes. It has also launched UK tours this year as well as new
ranges Detour, offering shorter stays in one location, and Limited Editions, offering small themed-tours. Contiki is using Black Friday to launch a two-week
