Explora Journeys introduces two group programmes

Harry Kemble

Explora Journeys has launched two group programmes and improved its ‘By Appointment’ service aſter bolstering its sales team with seven appointments including two London-based roles. The MSC Cruises luxury brand

has unveiled ‘Journey Together’, a programme catering for small groups and multigenerational bookings. Customers must book five suites and a minimum of 10 passengers.

A second programme, ‘Journey

Together +’, is for a minimum of 10 suites and 20 guests and offers agents a free host suite, “rewarding commissions” and lower-priced “value” fares to “significantly increase their profit potential”. Full-ship charter requests can

also be submitted by travel agents and are negotiated independently of the Journey Together programmes based on the length of the voyage and time of year. Agents can now also invite

customers on a ‘By Appointment +’ call to allow Explora Journeys’ ambassadors to answer questions and finalise bookings. The service, which launched in

December, is said to “remove any hold time and is exclusively available to agents”. The line’s first ship, Explora I, is due to launch next year. Explora Journeys has recruited

for two senior roles. Andrew Schweitzer, who previously worked for Quark Expeditions for 18 months, has joined as business

relationship lead for the UK and Ireland, while Natalie Dorrington has joined as trade marketing expert, after leaving Mundy Cruising’s GSA arm, The Cruise Portfolio, which recently closed. The line has also made several

appointments for roles that will oversee sales in northern and southern Europe. Recruits include Suzanne Kochen, Paul Potrykus, Daniel Zink, Gabriele Cornalba and Sophia Weiss. explorajourneys.com
