P&O Cruises puts UK and French coastal voyages on sale

P&O Cruises this week put its 2021 UK coastal cruises on sale along with a requirement for passengers to be vaccinated. New ship Iona will operate

seven-night itineraries from August 7 until September 18 as part of the Ultimate Escape series. Its maiden voyage includes anchoring off its namesake island in Scotland, and cruising along the coast of the Inner Hebrides. Prices for the Iona Maiden sailing

start at £1,199. Iona will also sail a seven-

night Voyage to the Sun from Southampton. It will cruise past the Channel Islands and along the

coast of France, priced from £779. Britannia will offer three and

four-night breaks and one six- night sailing running from June 27 until September 19. Prices start at £449 for three nights. All prices are full board. pocruises.com

Princess unveils 22 domestic sailings on Regal and Sky

Phil Davies

Princess Cruises plans 22 ‘Summer Seacations’ from Southampton aboard Regal Princess and Sky Princess this year. The sailings, departing from July 31 to

September 28, are for UK residents only – and all passengers must be vaccinated to board. Unlike fellow Carnival UK line P&O Cruises,

Princess plans stops at UK ports including Liverpool, Belfast and Greenock. Prices lead in at £539 for three nights and £999

for seven nights with up to three ports of call. Travel insurance will be mandatory. Regal Princess will run 14 UK cruises from July 31

until September 23, while Sky Princess will offer eight departures, from August 30 until September 28. Passengers and crew will be required to follow

enhanced health measures, socially distance and wear masks in certain areas of the ship. Crew will also undergo “a strict testing and quarantine regime”.

UK and Europe vice-president Tony Roberts said he

expected the cruises to appeal to both returning guests and new-to-cruise customers. “With Princess Cruises, the ship is also the

destination,” he said. “Rather than a traditional UK- based staycation, these resort-style ‘seacations’ offer the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy some time off.” Separately, Princess Cruises has cut £5 off the price

of its all-inclusive ‘Princess Plus’ option, which can now be added for £30 a day. It includes premium drinks, unlimited MedallionNet Wi-Fi and gratuities, which the line says is worth more than £65 a day. Fares with Princess Plus now lead in at £439 for a

four-night Netherlands Sampler cruise on Regal Princess from Southampton to Rotterdam on October 30. Roberts said the new price made the offer “even more

appealing to guests”, adding: “We’re excited that agents will be able to provide their customers with even better value for an all-inclusive cruise with Princess, which in turn will help to earn extra commission on bookings.” princess.com

Fred Olsen promotes ‘Welcome Back’ sailings around the British Isles

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has announced 11 domestic departures from July with new ships Borealis and Bolette split between Dover and Liverpool. The ‘Welcome Back’

programme of cruises aims to showcase the best of the British Isles, with scenic-only cruises and

travelweekly.co.uk sailings offering time on land in

the Shetland and Orkney islands. Borealis will be Fred’s first ship

to sail this year with a three-night maiden voyage from Liverpool on July 5. Bolette’s debut will be a three-night sailing from Dover on August 16. Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has

not stipulated any requirement for passengers to be vaccinated. Managing director Peter

Deer said: “With these sailings, guests can dip their toes back into cruising and enjoy all that they love about being on board with us, before we begin to venture farther afield again. This is an important

milestone for our business.” Prices start at £549 for a four-

night sailing from Liverpool on Borealis on July 8, including £75

onboard spending money. fredolsencruises.com/travel-agent-
