Visit USA to run Wide Open Spaces in the US virtual event in April


Visit USA is partnering with Travel Weekly and sister title Aspire to host a virtual event educating agents on destinations suited to post-pandemic travel. The event, named Wide


Open Spaces in the USA, will see representatives from 12 states and destinations highlight off-the- beaten-track product and places. The event will be broadcast


between 4.30pm and 6pm on April 14. Agents who register will be


entered into a prize draw to win one of two prizes: two return economy flights from Manchester to the US, courtesy of Aer Lingus, and a seven-night RV rental from Cruise America RV Rentals. Tracey Spuyman, UK chief

Trade-only operator USAirtours has launched a ‘Supporting Agents Supporting Us’ initiative to help agencies sell more long-haul holidays. A website has been unveiled featuring an expanded


range of long-haul destinations, including North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Dubai, the Indian Ocean and the Far East. Consumers visiting the website (usairtours.co.uk)


are encouraged to complete an online form and the enquiry is passed to the nearest appointed travel agent. Following a soft launch earlier this month,


USAirtours has been passing an average of 35 sales leads a week to agents and it hopes to generate hundreds of leads every week. The operator has started working with tourist boards and suppliers to “significantly increase” joint
