Tipto members and agents toasted the association’s 20th year from the dizzy heights of The Shard. Suppliers and agents were attending the travel


marketing body’s annual afternoon tea, held for the first time at the Shangri-La Hotel on the 34th floor of the iconic Shard, the tallest building in London. Tipto, which boasts 25 supplier members,


is running a further 19 roadshows and five SuperShows during its 20th year, which runs to the end of August. Last year it trained 1,634 agents at its roadshows and events. Tipto chairman Jane Atkins, pictured far


right, said: “The more agents who come to our roadshows, the more knowledge they will have and the more able they will be to close a sale.”

NCL boss Ferrin aims to boost UK repeat customers


Norwegian Cruise Line’s new UK boss aims to increase the number of repeat customers on board its fleet. Eamonn Ferrin said nearly 40% of NCL’s passengers have sailed with the line before, with the UK market “a few points behind”. Sister brands Oceania and Regent have repeat passenger rates of 50% and almost 60% respectively.
