AmaWaterways to boost capacity on Nile in 2024 with new ship AmaLilia
Harry Kemble
AmaWaterways is set to add a second ship on the Nile to “meet the growing demand” for the line’s sailings in Egypt. The river cruise operator
currently has 72-passenger vessel AmaDahlia, which launched in
September 2021, but in 2024 AmaLilia will also enter service
for the line. Both vessels will operate the
11-night Secrets of Egypt & the Nile cruise-and-land itinerary, which includes a seven-night round-trip sailing from Luxor. The line said AmaLilia will
“be thoughtfully designed with regionally inspired decor, spacious staterooms and suites and a speciality restaurant included in the river cruise fare”.
Star Clippers to host five Italy educationals
Star Clippers will operate five educationals about Italy next month. The three-hour ‘Spotlight On…’ events will see agents make pizzas at Pizza Express branches and learn about Star Clippers’ product and Italy. The event dates are July 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14. To request a place, email

SEE THE WORLD DIFFERENTLY WITH VIRGIN ATLANTIC
Hi there, I’m Rachel. I started at Virgin Atlantic as an apprentice in our retail stores, and over the last 12 years I’ve been able to grow and learn, moving up through roles to now heading the sales operations team.
Throughout my time here, I’ve always been encouraged
to stretch my skills, working in various teams across the business. This has opened up choices I may not have had on my career path if I’d worked elsewhere. The positive attitude and ethos I’ve encountered at Virgin has encouraged me to grab opportunities when they’ve come up. I feel hugely encouraged as a woman in a leadership role. I was able to climb the career ladder while having a family and creating a work-life balance that really worked for me. We’re always encouraged to be ourselves, to innovate, to think outside the box, and that means so much to me.
This incredible forward-thinking attitude shines through
in the products and services we bring to our customers. I know that everything we do has our customers at the very heart, and we’re always going above and beyond to deliver D EULOOLDQWO\ GLʞHUHQW H[SHULHQFH :H JHQXLQHO\ OLVWHQ WR IHHGEDFN DQG ʛQG ZD\V WR FRQWLQXDOO\ LPSURYH
