New regional departures from Belfast and London Tilbury are being introduced by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines next year. The line’s 2022-23 programme includes 126 new
voyages taking in 82 countries. Departures are from eight UK ports – London
Tilbury, Belfast, Portsmouth, Southampton, Dover, Liverpool, Newcastle and Edinburgh (Rosyth). The programme includes closer-to-home sailings
around the British Isles, shorter five-night breaks and fly-cruise options. Maiden ports of call include Crotone, Gallipoli and Monopoli in Italy; Lyngdal in Norway, Louisbourg in
Canada and Hakata and Nagoya in Japan. Braemar also returns to the narrow Corinth Canal in
Greece in spring 2023. A choice of an all-inclusive drinks package or
onboard spending money is offered for new bookings.
HIGH TIME: A high ropes experience, swim-up bar and a restaurant with a plant and fish-led menu will feature on P&O Cruises’ new ship Arvia. Passengers with a head for heights will be able to take on two Altitude Skywalk high ropes courses while 54m above the ocean. Another first for P&O will be a nine-hole mini-golf course. Arvia, a sister vessel to Iona, is due to enter service in December 2022. It will also boast the line’s first retractable SkyDome roof, beneath which there will be a swimming pool by day and entertainment by night. Its 12 restaurants and eight casual dining venues will include sushi bar Mizuhana. Like Iona, Arvia will be powered by liquefied natural gas.
