PLATO’S Afternoon tea, anyone? Cafe, bar and lounge Plato’s sits at the heart of Atlantis, The Palm’s grand lobby, where rich gold, amber and rust-toned interiors are softened by elegant turquoise drapes, creating an inviting space to linger. The lounge serves everything from buttery Viennoiserie pastries (think classic pain au Suisse) and indulgent afternoon tea to expertly crafted coffees, teas and evening cocktails. What’s new? This October, Plato’s will unveil a significantly expanded lounge that flows effortlessly from the indoor space onto a new outdoor terrace overlooking the resort’s fountains. A gently sloping stone pathway will improve accessibility, while a cascading water feature creates a shimmering centrepoint.
OSSIANO Few dining experiences are as memorable as Ossiano, Atlantis, The Palm’s one-Michelin-starred underwater restaurant, where guests dine beside an aquarium home to 65,000 marine animals. Descending the sweeping marble staircase sets the tone for a theatrical evening, as chef Rémy Marquignon’s nine-course seafood tasting menu is served against the backdrop of rays, sharks and tropical fish gliding past floor-to-ceiling windows. What’s new? The refurbishment introduces refreshed interiors and a reconfigured layout, creating a more intimate atmosphere. A new private dining room offers greater exclusivity, while a dedicated fish-ageing display and enhanced wine cellar further elevate the experience, complementing the restaurant’s collection of more than 1,200 bottles.
PALM POOL Fringed by turquoise loungers, white parasols and private cabanas, the Palm Pool stretches towards the sparkling waters of the Arabian Gulf, with Atlantis, The Palm’s iconic pink facade rising behind it. What’s new? The refurbishment focuses on elevating the existing pool, with the entire floor being regrouted, upgraded feature lighting for evening swims and an improved drainage system designed to cope with Dubai’s occasional showers. The result? An even sleeker setting for sun-soaked afternoons by the water.
