Shearings offers European river trips
in tie-up with Backwaters Tours Shearings Holidays has partnered with Backwaters Tours to offer three new tours that include cruise trips on European canals and rivers. They include the Scenic Waterways of Paris itinerary, which features day cruises on the Seine, the Marne and the Canal St Martin in Paris. Departing June 7, 2020, it costs from £682 for coach travel and four nights’ half-board accommodation.

Inghams unveils Volcanoes &
Glaciers itinerary in Iceland Inghams has unveiled escorted tours in Iceland for the first time for 2020. Land of Volcanoes & Glaciers, which visits the Eyjafjallajökull ‘ash cloud’ volcano, costs from £1,449, while a nine-day Iceland’s Summer Explorer starts from £2,499. The operator has also added Italy options, including a 10-day Discover Venice, Florence and Rome group tour, from £1,795.

Leger marks D-Day with launch of new Battlefields brochure
Leger Holidays has added 21 tours to its 2019-21 Batlefield Tours brochure, which was launched last week on the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Te brochure’s 71 tours cover
both world wars, the Napoleonic wars, the American civil war and the Vietnam war. All trips are accompanied by a batlefield guide. One of the new breaks is Loos
Anniversary, marking the 105- year anniversary of the Batle of Loos in France during the First World War. It costs from £349 for three nights’ bed-and-breakfast accommodation and coach travel. Also new is Finest Hour:
Batle of Britain, which visits sites in southeastern England and northern France. It costs from £529 for four nights’ accommodation and coach travel.

Trafalgar unveils trio
of Africa itineraries Trafalgar has added three new 2020 tours to its Africa range, which was launched last year, bringing the total to 11. They include Cape Town Explorer, priced from £1,990; Wonders of Kenya, from £2,655; and The Namibia Adventure, from £3,823. Prices do not include flights from the UK.

Contiki adds glamping and seven tours in US and Canada

Contiki has expanded its US and Canada programme for next year with the addition of destinations such as Alaska and new glamping experiences. Te youth group tours specialist has boosted its
USA & Canada 2019-20 programme with seven new trips, in Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, California and the southern US, and 13 updated itineraries. Cities in the Pacific Northwest that are new
to Contiki include Portland, Astoria and Seatle. Te new trips are: Grand Alaska; Pacific
Northwest Trail; California Dreamin’; Southern Soul; Southern Stars; Mighty Yosemite; and Southwest National Parks. Grand Alaska, from £2,399 for 12 days, includes
hiking, camping, canoeing, ice climbing in St Elias National Park, mine tours and scenic flights. Te Pacific Northwest Trail, from £1,515 for
nine days, visits San Francisco, and Multnomah Falls and Mount Hood, both in Oregon.
Te programme features 39 trips in total,
with experiences on the new itineraries including jetboating on the Columbia River in Portland and cooking classes in New Orleans. Glamping accommodation is now being offered at

luxury campsites on selected trips. Te new itinerary Southern Stars and existing trips Boot, Scoot ‘n Blues, Grand Northern and Northern Adventure all offer two nights in luxury private tents, with all the creature comforts, at glamping sites run by Under Canvas. Other unusual accommodation options in
the brochure include overnight stays in a rustic cabin on the shores of Bass Lake in a summer camp with a swimming pool, and a chalet in Banff in
