There is nowhere quite as diverse as the great outdoors in Andalusia. Mountain ranges make up much of its landscape, along with two national parks, forests and marshlands, a semi-arid desert, and of course, its beautiful coastline. For those looking to immerse themselves in nature, Andalusia is paradise. No other region in Spain boasts as many

days of sunshine as Andalusia, and at less than a three-hour flight away from the UK, your customers won’t have to travel far to get their dose of vitamin D. The region of Andalusia will also be

offering all international visitors free Covid-19 travel insurance from next year so your customers can visit with peace of mind.

Natural surroundings Mountains dot the horizon in Andalusia and are a great escape for those who want to explore, encompassing traditional villages, ski resorts and miles of scenic walking trails. Perhaps the best-known mountain range is the snow-topped Sierra Nevada, home to the tallest peak in Spain. It’s also a top-class ski resort with excellent conditions from November to late May. Doñana National Park, southwest of

Seville, is a great spot for birdwatchers, as migratory birds flock here. Visitors can also explore the park’s pine forests

and marshlands, while trying to spot its residents, including the endangered lynx. Head to the coastline in the east of Andalusia, where you’ll find the protected Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. Here, there are more than 30 miles of wild, rugged coastline where you can spot some impressive geological features, from hidden coves to pristine beaches. Flamingos reside on the nearby salt flats, while the bright blue sea is teeming with marine life.

Active and adventure Andalusia’s great weather makes it the ideal place for outdoor adventures. The River Genil is fantastic for white-water rafting, while cyclists can explore the many coastal trails, taking in the vistas at the same time. Ensure you take advantage of beaches and try your hand at some jetskiing, surfing and other watersports. Golfers can return to the mountains to tee off on some world-class golf courses, while avid hikers can embark on one of the region’s extensive network of walking routes.

All non-resident

international travellers to Andalusia will be

offered free Covid-19 insurance provided they are staying in ‘regulated accommodation’ such as a hotel, tourist

apartment, guesthouse or campsite for their visit to the region in 2021.

The insurance will cover medical, pharmaceutical and hospitalisation costs and fees up to the value of €4,000, with an excess of €100 along with ambulance or repatriation costs. For more information, visit andalucia.org/travel- assistance-insurance
