The issue of the protection of customer advance payments – especially, but not solely, in travel – has been a festering sore for four decades. Interview: Thomas Cook ‘failed to grasp rescue chance in 2012’ It breaks my heart to think how such an amazing business was used and abused for the satisfaction, greed and ego-boosting pleasure of corporate shareholders and overpaid and underqualified individuals.
