Several properties renovated following hurricane Irma in 2017 are reopening in the British Virgin Islands. Among the hotels and resorts due to reopen is


Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island, which is taking bookings on a non-exclusive basis for the first time. Necker Island can accommodate 30 people but will


accept smaller groups of between eight and 15 people to share the property. It is available to book from June 2020. Te island is also available for individual bookings in one of 20 rooms during its Celebration Weeks. Te Valley Trunk Estate in Virgin Gorda will reopen

Kempinski to restore historic Cuban building in style of its 1930s heyday

Kempinski Hotels is to restore a historic building and former hotel that dates back more than 100 years in Cuba’s capital Havana. Riu Hotels & Resorts has opened its first water park in Jamaica after completing renovations at Hotel Riu Ocho Rios on Mammee Bay. Splash Water World includes five slides, a racing water slide and a funnel slide, as well as a kids’ pool with slides and swim-up bars. The hotel has also raised capacity to 901 rooms. riu.com
